Strawberry Jam

There’s nothing like opening a jar of bright red jam in the middle of November to bring a little slice of heaven to your rainy morning toast.   So we made jam.

I had some excellent help from my friend Becky, and we waded through 5 batches of jam (to dole out between us and also a few for a certain September Care-Net benefit sale) and a batch of strawberry sauce and raspberry sauce for topping cheesecake and ice-cream.

Ryan and I picked the flats of strawberries and a few early raspberries.

Tender, juicy, fragrant, and bright red all the way through.
A sampling of the mess covering my entire little kitchen.
The color makes it worth any amount of hassle.
A little chalkboard paint for labels
Yummmmm.
